Job purpose

The R&D Trial Coordinator oversees all activities directly relating to the activities of R&D trials and maintain and organized profiles.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Co-ordinate and supervise full scale production trials to validate new and revised formulations, production parameters and processes.
  • Maintain and update mixer, sheeter, and oven profiles for both existing and new products in collaboration with the Process Control Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain and Production teams to schedule trials and ensure the availability of necessary raw materials.
  • Facilitate communication between R&D and Production to provide precise oven settings, sheeter configurations, and dough parameters for trials.
  • Monitor and document all the activities during the trial, including weighing, dough checks, dough at the oven and sheeter.
  • Collaborate with the R&D Technologist to conduct breakage tests and analyze results to determine compliance with established parameters and profiles.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in product development in food manufacturing, with hands-on involvement in formulation, testing, and process optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to document findings, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive continuous improvement in product development.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working conditions

  • Always work indoors.
  • Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting and temperature. 

Physical requirements

  • Standing involved.
  • May repeat the same movement.
  • Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel toed safety shoes/boots and beard nets.
  • Ability to bend or twist their body.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
