Job purpose

Operates oven equipment. Ensure final product meet customer’s specifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Operate oven equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust temperatures.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Use oil slug calculator.
  • Update baking metric board.
  • Follow oven profiles.
  • Follow color check procedures.
  • Address and troubleshoot any baking issues.
  • Communicate any issues with line supervisor, mixer, sheeter operator and crew leader.
  • Follow product specifications.
  • Assist sheeter operator with die cleaning and change overs
  • Act as back-up sheeter operator with basic knowledge including changeovers, start-ups, and regular break coverage.
  • Maintains a clean work area, worktable, spilling, floors, and oven equipment, etc.
  • Follow SOP’s including all applicable paperwork required.
  • Complete oven and oiler changeovers, including full washdown of equipment.
  • Maintain a non-oily environment using floor cleaning tools such as mops, floor scrubber.
  • Closely monitor the line when it comes to fire prevention – e.g. jam-ups, power outage, fast reaction speed.
  • Operate power walkie for tote movement and dough bin movement.
  • Ensure work area is clean prior to the start of the following shift.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Working conditions

  • Work indoors.
  • May be exposed to hot temperatures from ovens.
  • May work close to others, usually within a few feet.
  • Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting, and temperature.

 Physical requirements

  • Standing involved.
  • May repeat the same movement.
  • Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel toed safety shoes/boots and beard nets.
  • Ability to bend or twist their body.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
