Job purpose

The associate must be a responsible to select and purchase products on behalf of our company. As a buyer, will also need to negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Identify internal preferences and forecast purchasing department trends.
  • Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices.
  • Discover and purchase needed products and check the quality and the availability of those already on our locations.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase.
  • Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget.
  • Create reports on purchases, budgets and internal satisfaction and adjust your strategies accordingly.
  • Forge and maintain trust relationships with suppliers to promote fair dealing.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a buyer or relevant role.
  • Outstanding communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating.
  • Up to speed with purchasing best practices.
  • Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of purchasing software an advantage
  • High school diploma: BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field will be considered a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
